Paparazzi photos, Banff-style: Scientists capture fascinating view of Alberta wildlife using 100 remote cameras

They’ve caught a grizzly bear following a wolf, wolverines wandering in the backcountry and various types of wildlife using the Bow Valley Parkway during the hours when it’s closed to traffic. Remote cameras have become an important research tool for monitoring wildlife around the world – including Banff National Park. “It’s a really great way to non-invasively monitor a whole bunch of things,” said Jesse Whittington, a biologist with Parks Canada.
