New Pups Bring Hope for Isle Royale’s Wolves

The population of wolves on Isle Royale, Michigan, may be down, but they are not out – yet.  The site of the world’s longest running predator-prey study, Isle Royale hosts at least two new wolf pups born this season, the National Park Service announced today.  Wolf numbers plummeted to an all-time low of eight last year, as the consequences of inbreeding took an increasing toll, and last year there were no pups.
