Mine pushed caribou into wolf turf

Although blaming wolf predation as the number one cause for killing caribou in the South Peace and South Kelkirk regions, it’s because industry activity pushed the caribou into wolf country – according to B.C. government scientists.  In a proposed document for the B.C. wolf cull that started this year, released through a Freedom of Information request by Wolf Awareness and Raincoast Conservation Foundation, and prepared by BC. Government biologists, states that while wolf predation has become unsustainable over the past few decades, it’s because “that period corresponded to extensive landscape change due to industrial activities.”
