Learn to live with wolves, German farmers are told

A vast area of the most populous state in Germany has been designated as “wolf country” after a lone female began killing livestock in its fields. DNA analysis of sheep corpses showed that the attacks in North Rhine-Westphalia, home to nearly 18 million people, were the work of a single wolf — the first to take up residence in the area for more than a century.
