Leader of the Pack – Wolf predation at forefront of 2-day training

Between 50 and 100 ranchers, as well as law enforcement and game officers from up and down eastern Oregon and from as far away as Hood River, came to Ontario last week to learn about livestock kill investigations and how to determine predator involvement…taught by wildlife conservation officers James Barber and Jesse Jones from British Columbia, both of whom have more than 20 years of experience in dealing with predators and predator/livestock conflicts…While the training covered such predators as bears, cougars and coyotes, wolves were what was on most of the minds of local people, and much of the first morning of the session was spent on wolf predation.
