Alaska authorities: Nothing illegal about killing of 10 wolves

Photographs being distributed to news media and circulated on social media showing a man with the carcasses of 10 wolves he reportedly killed don't show anything illegal, according to Alaska Wildlife Troopers…The photographs were referred to troopers by Rick Steiner, a leading and longtime opponent of wolf hunting in the area adjacent to Denali National Park and Preserve. The news release from the two government agencies states that the wolves were killed about 70 miles east of the national park. "Investigation has determined the animals were taken in Game Management Unit 13B and not in the Healy area as alleged," the news release reads. "The Alaska Department of Fish and Game has confirmed the wolf hides were properly received and sealed at a regional office."
